The news: Global Payments will acquire Worldpay for a staggering $24.25 billion in a three-way deal with FIS and private equity firm GTCR, per a press release.

As part of this deal, Global Payments will sell its Issuer Solutions business to FIS for $13.5 billion. This deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026.
